Not sure what to say?

I have recently learned of Brian's passing. While I did not know him well, I knew him at SSU. I talked to him a lot and always enjoyed his presence. Over the years he would come into my thoughts and I wondered how he was.... I kept some contact with him via email in the late 90's and again he would enter my thoughts. My deepest sympathies to his family. I am saddened by his passing, yet encouraged by reading the accomplishments of his life. Hope you are healing I have grieved in learning of...

An apology to Mr. Sterner.... in person next we meet.
Godspeed

Many many thanks to everyone who shared their memories of Brian, and your kind thoughts on our behalf. They were much appreciated!

I met Brian through the philosophy department at SU. He was an extraordinarily courageous man who was generous in spirit, compassionate in his relations with others and creative in his thoughts and actions. I am thankful to have known him. Please accept my condolences and please know that Brian lives on in the many lives he touched and inspired.

May the good Lord bless you in this time of your grief at the loss of your beloved son Brian. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I know he will be missed so much. Love in Christ , Diane Reilly

I am so sorry. You are in my prayers. There is never a good time, but there is always time to remember the good times...and there are so many good times to remember. I am wishing you a lifetime of rememberings.

Dear Jean Marie and Terry, Dave and I can't tell you how sorry we are. Are love and prayers are with you and your family. May Brian rest in peace.

Our hearts go out to all of you, Jean Marie and Terry and your beautiful family. There are no words. Brian was a remarkable young man of whom you must be very proud...an example to us all.

I am sorry for your loss. I did not know Brian well. He was such a great friend and comfort to my sister Megan when she was battling her cancer. He was always there for her and my family will be forever grateful to him for that. They had a special bond. From what I can tell from all the stories he made everyone feel special just like my sister did. The two of them are up I Heavan now laughing and having fun look down on us. He will always be in our harts. He is gone but never forgotten.
