Dick was one of my oldest and most cherished friends. I have known him for nearly 55 years--since high school and through college and after. It was my great honor to serve as best man when he and Sheila were married. He was one of the finest, most extraordinary, caring and talented people I have ever met. My heartfelt sympathies go to his beloved wife, his family and friends who with me are feeling a deep sense of loss with his passing. There may not be many who remember his inspired playing of the tympani which he did with great thunder and impact as a member of the Manhattan College Orchestra. We talked about it in our last conversation just about a month ago and I'll remember it in a special way with every thunderstorm and majestic musical piece.

In loving memory to a wonderful man. It was a pleasure to work with Dick. His quiet and thoughtful approach inspired me to do my best and to think of others generously.

My wife and I would like to extend our most sincere and deepest condolences to Dick's family. I served on the Allegany ARC Board for almost all of Dick's tenure and can't begin to tell you how well respected and how much he did for the agency. It was a pleasure and and a honor to have served with Dick and again please accept our heartfelt thoughts and prayers.

I remember Dick from MC as a really sweet-tempered pleasant guy. I can't say how much this saddens me.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.
