David A. Mitchell

David A Mitchell died from a non-covid related infection unexpectedly on December 29, 2020 at the age of 70. David's and Hoopie's lives spoke volumes about their deep committments to each other and to the various causes they shared. He was a beloved member of our meditation group after Hoopie died.We continue to miss his physical presence.

Farewell my freind. I will remember our tech talks back at Xerox, when computers were growing from room size to appliance size while integrating desktop computers. You had the patience when I asked questions and the ability to explain the dynamics and answer my questions. I really appreciated your counsel.
We spoke shortly after Harriet had passed and now you've joined her. I wish you both peace and glad to have shared Geva Theater and dinners in Rochester.
You are in our hearts and thoughts forever.
Love,
Lenny & Cecelia

David was a quiet, non-intrusive presence as he moved around with his camera at Ganondagan, with an amazing "eye" for wonderful photos. He was completely dedicated to this service. Then, in addition, he dedicated himself to fulfilling his beloved wife Hoopee's volunteer commitments when she died suddenly. And then his mother died. David embraced the invitation to join our Buddhist meditation group while still deeply grieving these lost loved ones and, although his time with us was too short, this life is impermanent and we were lucky that he was with us for awhile. Be happy and at peace David; you will always be a part of us.

I practiced meditation with David within our group. His sweet calm demeanor and deep soulful introspection were always appreciated. Wish I had been able to know him longer. Peaceful Journey...good bye my Doban.
