I can only echo what others have said here of Dr Meinhold. I knew nothing of his above stated humanitarian works but I'm not surprised to read them. He was a very genuine and kind man. He worked on my braces for 6 years (they were a mess). I still get compliments from people saying how perfect my teeth look and how lucky I was to be born that way. HA! $2,000 (1976 money) well spent.

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Meinhold's passing. It was always a joy coming to see him in his office. He showed great humor and understanding with brace wearing. He was such a wonderful role model for so many. I enjoyed visiting with him as a youth so much, that when my children needed an orthodontist, there would be no other choice other than the wonderful Dr. Charles Meinhold. I had great confidence in his skillful dental abilities and human understanding of people. For years when going by his Chelmsford Office building, I'd tip my hat and say thank you Dr. M. I'm sure he will be missed by not only his special family but the community at large for his humanitarian efforts. The world was definitely a better place because he was here. I will always remember him in a special way for his caring manner. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends for their great loss.

My mother had buck teeth and Dr. Meinhold straightened them. Then, when my sister and I needed braces, we chose, Dr. Meinhold as well. Dr. Meinhold was the best Orthodontist! and could keep his patients laughing! There was where my brace wires were poking my gums. Dr. Meinhold laughed and said. "Karen this office is not supposed torture treatment, we are here to fix teeth" Then he laughed. He was a fighter on his patient's behalf. When another dentist pulled a tooth before consulting him, him, he was upset. He got on the phone in front of me. He called the other dentist.
The loss of such a great man a a terrible loss. He will be missed. He passed on some great life stories and a gave me a great set of teeth.

As a boy I broke a tooth and Dr. Meinhold put a cap on it, telling me it might last fifteen or twenty years. 50 years later that carefully crafted cap is still there.
But knowing Chuck as an adult really taught me about staying power. My parents, Harry and Betsy Essley often told me about Chuck's extraordinary efforts to support Ruthie through her long and difficult illness -- we should all have such a loyal partner and friend.

He graciously provided dental care for a 11 year old inner city boy that corrected his very crooked teeth, and today a youth leader in his church, and my adopted son who was voted "Outstanding Father of the Year". I thank Dr. Meinhold for being a strong role model of service that influenced this boys character.
