Mary Moffett Obituary
Fairport: Mary Mathews Moffett, aged 64, passed away on June 7, 2016. She was born on September 4, 1951, in Geneva, NY.
In 1977, Mary married Stephen V. Moffett, III, in Geneva, NY. The couple made their home in Rochester, NY. Mr. Moffett oversaw the S.V. Moffett Co., Inc., a turf and irrigation business. After Mary enjoyed and excelled in careers in both nursing and real estate, she took over the family business subsequent to Mr. Moffett's passing in 1996.
Friends and family were the light of Mary's life, and she loved to host holidays, entertain at home and spend time with family in Hilton Head Island, SC.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Stephen V. Moffett III; her parents, Jean Walsh Mathews and Kenneth Robert Mathews; and her father-in-law, Stephen V. Moffett, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Thomas) Layer; her son, David Moffett; her mother-in-law, Jacqueline Moffett; her sister, Jane (Dan) Zwerner; her brother, Bill Mathews; her nephews, Timothy (Marissa) Zwerner and Jeffrey Zwerner; her niece, Kimberly Zwerner; her uncle, William Mathews, many cousins, and close friends that were truly family.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4-7PM at the Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home, 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Rd., Fairport (EGYPT LOCATION). A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at St. John of Rochester Church, Fairport, at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Lollypop Farm Humane Society of Greater Rochester, 99 Victor Road, Fairport 14450, or via www.lollypop.org.

I just learned of Mary's passing after not hearing back from an email. Needless to say I am devastated and wish you my deepest condolences. She was the brightest star in the sky and we were all blessed by her presence. My sympathies and very best. And to you Mary, my love and remorse I didn't get to say goodby.

I was so shocked when I heard of Mary's passing. Mary use to come to are trade shows in Canada.
She was always looking for new ideas to apply to here business.
Mary will be sadly missed by so many.

I knew Steve and Mary Moffett when I started at Bobolink in 1981I was 17 my boss Ken Ulrich used to take me to Hennrietta to check out their turf equipment. It was like a field trip!! They had done great things for the superintendents of WNY and Fingerlakes. As I'm sure many more things than I can List. Time flys,Great people!

Earth has lost an angel and Heaven has gained one. Mary had a huge heart. She loved to help plan David, Jenns, nieces and nephews weddings with me. She will be missed and she is loved by so many.

Mary was a great lady with such a big heart. I worked for her during the irrigation days at S.V. Moffett. Through all the changes in my career paths, she always touched base with me and made sure my family and I were okay and happy. I'm saddened to here of her passing, and will miss her smile:)
