Joyce Lobene Obituary
Ogden: November 2, 2014 at age 75. Predeceased by her husband, Thomas R. Lobene, parents, James & Flora Nuccitelli, sisters, Deborah & Mary Ellen. Survived by children, James (Jacqueline), Michael (Jody), Thomas (Michael), Mary Lobene (Bilinski); grandchildren, Patrick, Beau, Shaun, Jared, Lauren, Shamus, Sam; sister, Diane (Michael) Whalen; In-laws, John & Ann Lobene;several nieces & nephews, and many dear friends. Joyce was a graduate of Mercy High School & she went on to attend Business School. She was a licensed Real Estate Broker & Manager with Nothnagle Realtors for 35+ years. She served on many Boards & organizations. She was past President of Chamber of Commerce & Village of Spencerport Trustee. She was most Recently the Mayor of Spencerport. Visitation is Wednesday 3-7 PM at the funeral home, 15 West Ave., Spencerport. Joyce's funeral service will be Thursday at 11 AM at St. John's the Evangelist Of Spencerport, 55 Martha St., Spencerport. Interment is Private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Wounded Warriors, support.woundedwarriorsproject.org in Joyce's memory.

My apologies that this message comes somewhat late. It takes longer for the news to get this far out of town. I have such warm and fond memories of your mom (and you). She gave her heart and soul to Spencerport and made it a better community for everyone, now and in the future. She was a special lady and will be missed by all.

Dear Mary and all of Joyce's family. I am sorry I was not able to attend calling hours or the funeral service for Joyce. She was a colleague I always looked up to and admired her for all that she accomplished for our village and our town. One day at the village hall, I commented on her license plate "JOYCE, '39". We were both born that year and agreed that '39 was a very good year!! She will be very missed. God bless you all as you go through this very difficult time.

Joyce and I once worked together at General Dynamics/Electronics many years ago. I remember the wonderful Lasagna dinner at her parents home...such warm and wonderful people. My sincere thoughts, hugs and prayers to Joyce's children and grandchildren.

Joyce is one of the most beautiful people I've ever known. Her spirit was so uplifting to be with her was a joy. She loved her family and she was the Mayor of everything she did.
Larry and I were blessed to have her as our 1st cousin and we know she is in heaven. Oh how she loved her children and grandchildren. We will keep you all in our prayers through this difficult time. Love, Larry & Nancy

Ms Lobene was a wonderful lady. I had the honor of helping her when she would need to come into to Unity Hospital and was on my floors. She was gracious, kind, funny and an inspiration. Through our conversations we discovered she knew my parents from the "old days" in Spencerport. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Mary, Jim, Mike & Tommy first I must express my sorrow for the loss of your Mom.
Pat, Shaun, Shamus, Beau, Jared, Lauren & Sammy - your Grandmother/Nana was the Best! How proud she was of each of you. During your time of sorrow hang onto the GREAT memories of her. She will always be with each of you forever.
Now to say Good bye to you Joyce. In my heart I know that you are gone but in my mind you are not. When I look around the village you are everywhere from the Hometown Hero Flags to the smallest flower you planed in one of the village gardens. You still had a lot of work to do. I will miss our side bars and special meetings. Our conversations about politics and just family stuff. Who am I going to bicker with? My tears are sad ones! You should still be here with us. I had a question about the new signage on West Ave, you were not here to answer my inquire. Next year when I take part in the 9/11 event I will do so under a new commitment. It will be because of you. I remember the day I asked you if we were going to have a 9/11 event. You looked at me, cancelled all previous plans and together we put on the best 9/11 service ever. That was my very favorite one. You allowed me to introduced the Hometown Hero flags with great pride and honor. I will continue to keep you in my prayers and thoughts forever. For now I will say Good Bye to my Friend.
