Mark - you lived life to the fullest- you always made each time we were together special- your knowing smile- your quiet kindnesses. We will miss you at our our Friday evenings at Paddys- our super bowl parties- John will miss serving you his famous stale pretzels- we will miss you watching Liz and I during our foot races- Your smile and eye-rolling -while you wondered how long it would take Liz and I to say good-bye at the end of each evening of fun. Your quick wit kept each evening lively. We thank God for the gift of knowing and loving you as one of our dearest friends- part of our family. Our children have always considered you and Liz as second parents- so loving and protective (the A-team). Thank you for loving us and we will continue to love and care for Liz, Sarah and Mark and of course Calvin! We know that you are in God's hands now and watching over all of us. May your passing into his hands at such an early age teach us to appreciate each day as a gift. You ran a good race in life. See you in the beauty of each day and at the finish line of our lives our dear friend. Love you always- John and Linda

So shocked and saddened to hear the news about Mark. I had met and become friends with Mark over the last year or so at local road races where we often finished within a few seconds of each other. We shared laughs, swapped stories, and celebrated his frequent age group wins after nearly every race. It was a privilege to know him, if only for a short while. He was a fierce competitor and a terrific guy. He will be missed very much by the Rochester running community. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
