Alan Drechsler Obituary
Greece: November 17, 2013. Predeceased by his wife, Trudy. Survived by his children, Amy (Matt) Drechsler-Margolis and Alan (Kristi) Drechsler; grandchildren, Connor, Eva, Jack and Alexis; sister, Linda (Robert) Decker; several nephews. Alan was a member of the Rochester and New York State Softball Hall-of-Fame and member of I.A.A.B.O. Board 60 for over 35 years.
Friends may call Thursday 4-8 at the funeral home, 777 Long Pond Road (between English & Latta). Memorial Service, 11:00 Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4301 Mt. Read Blvd. Interment, Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.

Amy and Al. It was such a shock to hear your Dad had passed. I'll never forget the days working with Al at Lake Shore, and in the fall wondering if a pear may come sailing at us from two fairways away. Always liked Big Al. Please accept my condolences. Be blessed.

We knew your Mother and Father from our stroke group at McDonalds. We were so very sorry for the loss of your Dad. It must have been hard for him to go on without your Mother, but what a shock for those left behind. I know they both loved you and those beautiful babies. As another former neighbor of your father on Rhea Cresent I would like to offer my condolences. Your father was a great man and an inspiration to alot of us. I have many fond memories of my time growing up on that street and your father was a big part of them.

I was extremely saddened to hear of Al's passing. I had the opportunity and pleasure of knowing and learning from him, as a fellow member of Board 60 Basketball Officials. Al was a kind, honest, caring individual. My sympathy to the family, and my prayers for continued strength.

I'm so sorry for your great loss of your Dad. I knew both your loving mom and dad from high school. Also, my late husband played ball with your dad and against your dad. He was always kind and always smiled his hardest when talking about your mom or his amazing children. Your mom called me 30-years ago to share how sorry she was for the loss of my husband, Peter. She explained what she was enduring, and that we do not know why, but someday will find out,until then we must go forward with all the strength we have and live through our loved ones what we have learned from them. She was also an amazing woman! Until you can walk on your own, please let others guide, love and give you all strength to be able to walk on your own. Many prayers, love and support go to all of you.

Al, Amy and family,
Your dad was a geat softball player, but more than that he was a great man. I enjoyed playing with and against "Big Al". He was always a gentleman. Also enjoyed the years with him watching "Little Al" play basketball at Athena withg my son Jason. He was very proud of both of you and your achievements. May you all find comfort in each other and may he rest in peace. The world lost a wonderful guy.

To all the family I send my deep condolences. I knew Alan a very long time ago, when he was first born on Mohawk Street, Rochester, NY. He and his sister Linda (my dearest childhood friend) moved to Royal Parkway, Webster, NY when I did. We stayed friends through many years in grammar school.
