Stephen Wheeler Memoriam
Stephen Jerome Wheeler died on Thursday, November 19, 2015.
Steve is predeceased by his mother, Virginia P. Wheeler. He is survived by his wife, Beth; daughters Amanda (Jason) Offord and Kate (Tim) Wheeler Hennekey; father, John J. Wheeler; siblings Suzanne (Kevin) McLymond, Richard (Grace) Wheeler, and Sarah (Robert) Dorman; mother in law Jean D. Wallin; nieces, nephews, and extended family, and a host of loving friends.
In honor of Steve's wishes, there will be no calling hours, and immediate family will hold a private ceremony.
To celebrate Steve's love of music, the family asks that donations be designated "For tuition assistance, in memory of Stephen J. Wheeler" to the Hochstein School of Music and Dance, 50 Plymouth Avenue North, Rochester, NY 14614.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Oh, Beth.....I am heartbroken for you and your girls. That just hits me in the gut. I will never forget Steve helping our Nathan (now almost 30) when he was about 6 or 7,,,showing him his electric guitar, and singing, "Wild thing.....I think I love you!". Nathan quoted him.....many, many times over the years, while playing anything at all that resembeled a guitar. He was definitely one of those figures in our son's life.....that had a major role in forming his psyche. So, so, so sorry for your loss. Love and hugs to you and your girls.

Dear Beth and girls,
It breaks my heart to learn of our friend "Xrocker" passing. He has been such a strong support to thousands of or more of us who have been through the a very similar journey as his. With out his support on Inspire we would have been so desperate. I can't thank you enough for sharing him with us. He will be so missed. My tears are clouding my eyes as I write.....but after five years of supporting Steve back......and his support us, I am just positive there is a special place in Heaven for this speacal soul.
I hope some how this helps you to know what a hero your loved one was. Even in his difficult time he gave selflessly to others. God rest His soul and give you peace in your grief knowing your husband and father was a true HERO.

We consider ourselves very blessed to call Steve our friend and neighbor. He added so much to our lives, with his humor, his music, and his friendship. Our early memories are of Steve playing Creedence tunes as he sat in his garage one day. He is the reason we traveled to Memphis, Clarksdale, and the Mississippi Blues Trail. We know his soul rose unexpectedly, and is looking back down at us. Our love to Beth, Amanda, and Kate.

Beth and family, I am so sorry to hear this news. I met Stephen on Inspire as a fellow lung cancer warrior. He was so kind to me, always responding in a light hearted fashion. I am a music teacher by profession, so I share his love of music. He will be missed.

I never knew you, you didn't know me. I read your posts on the Inspire Forum and some of your words of wisdom will stay with me for ever.
