Albert Bradt Obituary

Bradt, Albert Johnson of Littleton, died Feb. 16, 2011, age 89. He was born in Newton, IA, July 2, 1921, elder son of Roscoe Newton Bradt and Ruth Johnson. He earned a B.S.E.E. from CU then joined the Army Signal Corps, serving in the Pacific during WWII. Al married Mary Jane Boyd, Dec. 21, 1950. He earned his M.S. from Iowa State in '51 and his PhD from DU in '67. Al worked for Martin Marietta in guidance systems, retiring in '82. He was an avid hiker and backpacker who climbed many Colorado "14ers." Active in the CU Hiking Club, he enjoyed skiing, photography, and RVing. He gave many volunteer hours to ARC and Friends of Good Shepherd. After Jane's death in '02, he met and married Ellie Mahonchak, 2-12-05. He is survived by Ellie, son Eric Bradt of Littleton, daughter Barbara and son-in-law Craig MacCambridge of Longmont. He was preceded in death by his brother Russell N. Bradt (d. 4-8-80). Memorial, March 5, 11am, Fairmount, 430 S. Quebec St., Denver. Interment, Ft. Logan. The family suggests donations to Good Shepherd Fund, 1641 N. 1st St., Ste. 155, San Jose, CA 95112 (888-422-4904), or VistaCare Hospice.
