Emily,

I am blessed to have known you. I thank our friend, Turner, for that. I remember you as being extremely confident, and certainly full of 'life'. What I always appreciated about you was your willingness to associate with anybody. You were 'sassy', yet so down to earth. I know you are smiling down from Heaven as I say these words.

When I began teaching, Emily was the first student to introduce herself to me. Even though it has been 23 years, I remember her well. I remember her great smile and a wisdom well beyond her 14 years. She was energetic, funny, intelligent, involved, and caring. It does not surprise me that she became the successful, well loved and well respected woman she was. Emily will be missed, but she will live on in the fond memories of all that she touched. My thought and prayers are with you.

Berkeley Family and Lee... I am so sorry for your loss. Emily was the first person I met at Lake Forest College. We shared a dorm room freshman year. She was a smart and adventurous person. She always spoke so fondly of her family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I met Emily just a short time ago. I had the opportunity (and honor) to work with her - she had just come to our firm as a new associate and she brought a wonderful energy and sense of adventure to the place - we all had to laugh when she showed off her new yellow jump suit and strutted around the office while wearing it. We hit it off instantly and I liked working with her very much. With a very HEAVY heart, we said goodbye to Emily yesterday, but she will never be forgotten.

I met Emily for the first time just weeks ago. I went to a skydiving party and I myself and not a skydiver. She was the first person to introduce herself and spent the entire night making us feel comfortable. Even though I met her only that one time it is so hard to believe that she is gone! My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

"Emily was my Attorney and worked on my case for 3 and half years. I will miss her so much; she was my friend and cared about my fight for my daughter so much and fought so hard for us. The Heavens have opened up to a beautiful sole who will be missed so much. My daughters Angel watches over her. Thank you Em!!! Love."

I met Emily during the Family Law Institute in Steamboat this past August. We had a great dinner and evening on the town with our firm. I was struck by her zest for life and energy. My heart was truly saddened when I heard the news Monday morning. It is a great loss to our profession and our community. My prayers are with her family. She will be missed with fond memories.

I knew Emily at Lake Forest College. I really respected her willingness to question and challenge things and to face them head on with passion and gusto. And the Lake Forest College community was not always receptive to this. I really admired her courage.

I had the great fortune to work with Emily for the last three weeks. During that time, Emily made a lasting impression on our firm. Not only was she a fantastic lawyer, but she was also a spectacular, vivacious, kind, and funny person. I am so sorry for the loss of this amazing woman.

Em was such an amazing woman and she would have given the pre-Brad 'Angelina' a run for her money in all of the following: Fearless, smart, beautiful and sassy...an amazing combination. Like Laura Croft but 1,0000x BETTER! I miss you friend.

Emily worked with us at Hogan & Hartson about 10 years ago. She left a lasting impression on us with her bright smile, her passion for life and her love for animals. We have pictures of her and Dottie that she had given to us that we will cherish. She will truly be missed.

I've been blessed with knowing Emily for over 35 years through the relationship with her Uncle Dan Berkeley. I consider myself fortunate to have experienced her precious spirit which will stay with me forever. I always will remember her smile, Gods greatest gift to her. She'll always be in my heart and I pray her sweet presence will linger always with her family and loved ones.
