I studied with Ted Alexander while I was in High School, 1972. I was so proud to learn from the best. He will be missed. I still think of him, and was touched by his knowledge, warmth, and talent. It is truely a blessing to have known him.

My father couldn't say enough about his teacher and friend Ted. Pete Lege (who I have to add is an outstanding pianist) studied for years under him and eventually filled in for Ted at some his gigs. What a wonderful gift Ted gave to the world,,,,the gift of music. I'm happy that dad had the pleasure both knowing him as a friend and mentor.

I had my first piano lesson with Ted on August 29, 1956. Because of Ted's generosity I was able to meet Erroll Garner and Oscar Peterson among others and watched as Ted outlasted them all. Sadly, it's now our turn to lose one of our fine piano teachers as well as one of our final great players from the golden age of jazz. RIP Ted.

Ted used to play weekly at Mel's Bar and Grill in Cherry Creek, where I played too, so we became friends and would hang out when he'd listen to me or I'd listen to him. He had a lot of great stories about Peggy Lee and all of his earlier musical experiences. Everyone in the room really liked him and he played cool, ornate solo piano - he had really big hands!

Professor Alexander, a piano virtuoso, was a man who generously shared his musical gifts and the history of the composers he played. I was blessed to have him as a part of my life and will never forget our talks and his zeal for life. Professor spoke often of his love for our Lord, his love for his children and how he missed his beloved wife. I cherished the concerts Professor shared with us and his musical offerings at Loving Saints Christian Fellowship. Even though I will miss Professor so very much, wonderful memories of this great musician, friend and man of God will remain in my heart.

Professor Alexander was a fantastic pianist, great man of faith who also had a great sense of humor. Loving Saints Christian Fellowship will never be the same without him. I will miss his biblical instruction in Greek. I know he is pain-free, at peace and living with Jesus. -Rev. K.Cunningham

"Ted was a man of great faith. He endured severe pain in his later years, but continued to bless all of us who knew him with his gentle spirit, his unique intelligence, his sense of humor, and his uplifting music. We will always cherish the time we had together. We know that he is now with Jesus and forever at peace..."Patty, David, & Jeremy Veal and Eugene Howard

I was a student of Ted's many years ago
when his children were very young. I also became a good friend of his wife and
will always remember coming to the house
for my lessons.

I will always treasure the memories of Ted sitting in his chair smoking his pipe during my piano lessons. He was a huge influence in my life and I always enjoyed listening to the "Master of the Keyboard". Denver has lost its best jazz pianist. I am blessed to have studied under such a great teacher.
