One aspect of Ed's kindness and generosity was the multiple gallons of blood he donated. His kindness rubbed off on me, especially when he learned I had O negative (universal donor) blood. We used to go to lunch every couple of months, solve some of the world's problems, and then head to the Belle Bonfils Center in Aurora.
I'll miss the camaraderie, the friendly discussions, the gentle persuasion, and the satisfaction of a service rendered, inspired by Ed. RIP
