Hello General Jordan, On 05/25/2024, I wondered what you'd have done differently this time if you were a young cadet when Pres. Biden visited West Point. Fortunately, I got a message: in other faith communities, you share the gospel through earthly recognition of religious marriage. "Doctrine and Covenants 138:30
But behold, from among the righteous, he organized his forces and appointed messengers, clothed with power and authority, and commissioned them to go forth and carry the light of the gospel to them that were in darkness, even to all the spirits of men; and thus was the gospel preached to the dead. " Peace in paradise. :)

Dear Joe,
Please allow me to share this message with you of peace and love:
"When an Eastern sage was desired by his sultan to inscribe on a ring the sentiment which, amidst the perpetual change of human affairs, was most descriptive of their real tendency, he engraved on it the words : 'And this, too, shall pass away.' It is impossible to imagine a thought more truly and universally applicable to human affairs than that expressed in these memorable words, or more descriptive of that perpetual oscillation from good to evil, and from evil to good, which from the beginning of the world has been the invariable characteristic of the annals of man, and so evidently flows from the strange mixture of noble and generous with base and selfish inclinations, which is constantly found in the children of Adam." - The Revolutions in Europe", Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine, May, 1848, p. 638

I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Joe's passing, I really miss him and have missed him over the last few years, he was like a father to me. Uncle Joe was a good role model for me and he has helped me and my wife before we got married as well as after we got married. I didn't have an income for over a year because I was waiting to get disability. We most certainly would have been financially washed out if it wasn't for his help.
There were a few times that he wouldn't take any money from us when we got in a better position financially. He would smile and told me to just pay it forward, which we have done. "When you have done it for the least of these my brothern, you have done it unto Me."
Uncle Joe was an amazing man and I am deeply thankful to him in many ways~ We are going to miss you something royal Uncle Joe! I lost two fathers that day. My dad's funeral was on the same day as Uncle Joe's funeral.

General Jordan was a man who was in the world, but not of the world. Seventeen years ago I got to know him in Hawaii after a couple of students returned from USINDOPACOM/USPACOM. He shared that he was ready to leave this world, resting with those that had died in the wars.
After 9-11-2010, the first lesson I learned from him was "war or peace." The last lesson we discussed was about "war and peace" on Memorial Day in 2018. General Jordan left the following lesson for us to continue to learn:
"Just with a feel of realism, without prejudice, should we step into the future. What will be, will be. Only the fortune of war will tell, since life may be war or peace...
Loving with human love, one may pass from love to hatred; but divine love cannot change."
- Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace.
