Barbara Anderson Obituary

1924 ~ 2016
Our dear sweet mother and grandmother Barbara Marie Stucki Anderson, 91, passed away peacefully in Pleasant Grove, Utah on September 1, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 3, 1924 in Salt Lake City Utah to William Theophil Stucki and Lucy Marie Sorensen Stucki. She graduated from East High School and attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. She married Richmond Meldrum Anderson in the Salt Lake Temple on July 31, 1945. Barbara and Richmond lived in various homes in California, Wyoming and Utah.
She loved enjoyed teaching children's art, creative stitchery, home decoration, creating hand built ceramics, gardening and accompanying her husband on trips with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She was involved with the La Leche League. When her children were in school, she went back to college and became a registered dietician, where she was able to guide many into quality eating patterns. She loved the LDS church and people and served in a variety of callings. She especially enjoyed teaching a Home Nursing course to Relief Society women.
She is survived by her four children: Nancy (Lee) Koehler, Sharon (Greg) Barlow, Douglas (Susan) Anderson and Joyce (Steven) Shumway, 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richmond, her parents, two sisters Margaret Stucki Christensen and Bonnie Stucki Gudmundson and brother Richard Stucki.
The family would like to express appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at Lakeview Elderly Care where Barbara lived for the past nine years, along with A+ Hospice who made it easier on our family to know she was well cared for, especially in the last week of her life. She was grateful to each of you and all you did for her.

We loved Barbara So. Her Smile that was always waiting for us every morning. With a " GOOD MORNING did you have a good night?" Always thanking us for are help. She would always notice in detail what we were wearing. always followed by a sweet comment. I would spend time talking about her hanging art work that would fill her room. I would every morning blow on her bird mobile to make the birds seem to fly in the wind. She would say how she loved that. I have so many memories of Barbara. I'm so thankful that her family brought her to us to love and care for. We miss her. I have a hard time going into her room. tears come to my eyes. I know she is so happy now and pain free. I love her family Joyce, Doug, Nancy, Sharon. We are so sorry for your loss. When ever you see a butterfly stop and watch she is there. She will always be close to you. again Love to you all xoxoxo

Our dear Aunt Barbara was always so kind and generous! I remember her beautiful garden in Bountiful and laughing with her while we ate her good white peaches. We are so sad to see her go but cherish our memories of many happy times together. We love you Aunt Barbara!
