Received this sweet reminder of one of my favorite people. His impact in my life was tremendous. He was my hero and an example to me of great leadership. I remember walking into the church late one evening and seeing his door partially open. He was there, alone, and I could tell he was bearing the weight of the world. He did so without complaint and while lifting the rest of us. I will always be grateful for him.

Dad, you could have been a movie star or an opera singer, but instead you chose to be Marilynn's husband, our father, and a disciple of Christ. And thus the world's loss was the world's gain. Now you really ARE in Lew-land and the sky really IS blue all of the time and there is beauty and love everywhere. I never could figure out how you managed that every day, but what an example you have been and, yes, I miss you deeply and wish I could hear you sing again. I can't seem to find that blue sky either. You took it with you. I love you so much Dad. C.

Lew is a dear friend. I worked for him at Farr Ice Cream and later we worked together at the LDS hospital. He was always warm, friendly and fun. And so talented. Water fights in the back room or locking the girls in the freezer were not above him! He either joined in or looked the other way. Annual trips to Ogden for a cone at the factory and a swim in that beautiful pool up the canyon were so much fun. Lew blessed my life and so many others. We will miss him too.

I didn't know Lewis, I DO KNOW tha this world is a "FARR" better place because of the children that he & the children's mother brought into his world. Great job!!!!! Now take your rightful place our Savior has prepared for the honorable & faithful

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. It is always hard to part with a loved one. However, It is wonderful to know that they are with loved ones on the other side. Love, Sarah Beth

I worked at FARR BETTER ICE CREAM in Salt Lake when I was in high school and at the U. The staff was made up by some of the finest people I have ever known. Our boss Lew Farr was my friend and mentor. He was one of the most pleasant, helpful and understanding people I have worked for. The lessons I learned from him have stayed with me through my life. I left Salt Lake many years ago, but still think fondly of Lew and my time dipping ice cream cones.
I pass on my very best to you all. Sing your hearts out.

I feel very privileged to know Lew as a youth, and have very fond memories of him. He is one of the reasons I am endeared to both the church and singing. I would try to sit near him during church to hear his wonderful voice, and it made me want to learn how to sing. When I had rough spots as a youth singing is what kept me grounded, and singing later took me to diverse places and experiences, and I owe a lot of that to him. I appreciated him very much and everything he was. He will be missed, and I wish my condolences and well wishes to his family.

I will miss Lewis so much! He was almost always cheerful and making jokes whenever I came to see him and my mother. He loved singing barbershop type duets with my mom for us and anyone else who visited them! He never complained or seemed grumpy even during the last few weeks when I knew he wasn't feeling very well. He always paid me a compliment whenever I saw him and I know he helped my mother by telling her how wonderful she is frequently. I truly believe in my heart that Heavenly Father bought my mother and Lewis together because he knew they could love and help each other during their golden years.
I remember Lewis as a younger man in the Mount Olympus 8th Ward when I was in Young Womens. I always was so excited to hear him sing in church. I loved his voice and admired his family. It is amazing how small the world really is. Now we are all part of an eternal family and I will miss my dear, loving stepfather deeply.

Lewis wasn't his usual happy self the last couple of times we were together. I know he is happy now and singing again with his loved ones in heaven. He is really missed by all of us.

To the Entire Farr Family on all sides: You have really lost a very precious person, who was always there for others. I remember when I was 8 years old in Ogden, Utah, ( 1954 0r 55) all the joy the Farr family brought to all of us, and their dedication to their Church. All of us kids spent a lot of fun times at their Cabins by Kosy Dam. What I miss most of all is the great Banana Nut Ice Cream he so delivered to our family when we drove to Farr's Ice Cream as kids in Ogden.
May you all always remember, he and the Farr Family that were so much part of our lives in Ogden, Utah, with the Dexter Farr Family growing up across the street from our family.
Our deepest Condolences to all of you.

I can't think of anything I would rather see in a tribute to my dear mentor than that he loved people and inspired them to be their very best. I was so lucky to have him in my life. He helped me believe in myself and in the world.
He taught me by his example. I remember coming to the Ward building late one evening. Bishop Farr didn't know that anyone else was in the building. His office door was open. I could see him at his desk, clearly agonizing for those of us in the Ward. I knew before that time that he loved us, but I didn't understand the depth of that love until that moment.
My love to his wonderful family. Thanks for sharing him with all of us.
Love, Karma Grimm Dixon

Will always remember him as beloved bishop of university 24th ward. He was very wonderful. His love for the lord and the gospel was enormous. He was so full of empathy. Had a profound affect on my life. Rest in peace dear bishop. My condolences to the family.

I will always remember good Bishop Farr for his sense of humor, for his always optimistic and hopeful counsel, for his love of Dixieland and musical instruments, for his priceless love of the Lord. So much I learned from him.
