Megan Dunyon Obituary

Megan Elizabeth Dunyon
1979 ~ 2012
Our sweet Meggie, Megan Elizabeth Dunyon of Cottonwood Heights, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 3.
She was born January 26, 1979 in Murray, UT. Megan was a beautiful, generous daughter who loved performing and being on stage, reading, playing piano, going to the movies and singing karaoke with her friends. She was a wonderful companion to her mother and a great friend to all. Megan had a special kinship with her dogs over the years: Mandy, Trelly and Macey. She is dearly missed, but we take comfort knowing that Megan is reunited with her father, Joy "Jerry" Robinson Dunyon, and that she is finally free of the chronic pain that plagued her for years.
She is survived by her mother, Janis Jorgensen Dunyon; her grandma, Martha Jorgensen; her brothers Todd (Katie) and Ryan (Mindy); her sisters Amy (Matt) Bowman, Julie (Joe) Bingham, and Emily (Russell) James; and 17 nieces and nephews with whom she loved to play and to whom she was Aunt Meggie.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8 at 11 a.m. at the Granite Ward, 9575 S 3100 E, Sandy. Viewings will be held Sunday, October 7 from 6-8 p.m. and Monday, October 8 from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Granite Ward.
We love you always, Megan.

Dear Janis, I am so sorry to hear of Megan's passing. I still remember her as a darling little girl; what a beautiful woman she became. When I saw you at the Draper Temple a couple of years ago, you had said Megan had health problems and was living with you. I know you will miss her terribly but will be glad she is no longer suffering. I know that she will be forever in your heart until you see her again. Dennis, Mason and I will keep you in our prayers.

I was more than shocked and extremely saddened when I heard of your passing. You were such a sweet soul, so accepting of everyone, I remember all the singing at the club, and what an amazing voice you had, we shared many of the same friends and I was proud to call you my friend, one of my funniest memories of you was at Denny's, late night, you and our "boys", they were making fools of themselves and we just kept rolling our eyes at each other. You will be GREATLY missed by so many people, now you can sing with the angels and dance without any pain, I love you sweet girl, watch over us.... and until we meet again... xoxoxoxo

Megan, you were my dearest and closest friend. You were there for me when i was at my lowest point in my life and i was thankful to be next to you before you left us. You will forever be with me, and i will be telling stories of you until my day comes to be with you again. Thank you for being in my life. You began as a friend and became the sister i never had and the one i could trust above anyone else. I love you still and will every moment i have left here.

All I can really say is thank you for being my friend. That last hug was so reassuring, and I suppose for you it was more of a goodbye.

Thank you for the goodbye. You left a lasting impact on my life, and I am forever grateful!

Megan is a beautiful person. She will be in my heart forever. Part of me wants to be selfish and wish she was still with us. It hurts to loose a friend. Thank you for being there. I loved to hear you sing. Im glad yo are without pain mentally and physically. You are on the big stage now Shine like the star you are. You will be truely missed.

Megan was a great friend who I got to see in great pain and love and she was there for me with both as well. Sad to know that she was the first of the "Herd" to go to the great beyond but a blessing to know she is no longer in pain and I am sure making Heaven sing with her in her great party.

I first met Megan back in '05, when I started going to Laraoke nights at a local club. She was always nice to me and fun to hang out with. Sometimes we would sing duets and we blended well together. Megan was a special spirit and I will deeply miss her. God bless you Megan. Thank you for being a part of my life!!

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Megan's passing. I head known Megan for the past 16 years, and she was a good friend who I will miss very much. The only comfort is knowing that she no longer suffers the pain and illness we watched her struggle through for so many years. I can honestly say that I am a better person because of my association with her, and she will remain in my heart forever. The force will be with you, Megan. Always.
