Judy:
I just received an email from Kim about Van's passing. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers. I remember your kind words when I was struggling. We now live in Virginia and I am a counselor working with the troops returning from Iraq. If you ever want to visit DC, give Kim a call and get our number.
Love,
Cousin Susan Walley

Aloha Judi and family! we are greatly sadden by the news of Van's passing. He was a great father to your children and husband to you as you faithfully served a mission for the Lord. He is now at peace. Even though he is gone, his presence will be felt by you whenever you feel the need. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and the children. Please stay strong and well until we meet at the Bathtub Beach in Hawaii. Aloha! SHMagalei

Hi Judy,
My name is Melanie Clawson-Inskeep. Mr.Bulkley was my teacher in 1981. My sister, Barbara, was his TA. We were both notorious sluffers, but we never missed Mr.Bulkley's class.
He was our favorite teacher ever! And the only one we ever talk about. We adored him.
My sister called me today to tell me that Mr.Bulkley had died this week. His funeral was yesterday! We would have loved to have been there to show our respect and love for such a wonderful man.
He must have had the patience of Job to put up with our shenanigans.
I'm so sorry for your loss and just wanted you to know how much Mr.Bulkley meant to us.

Elder Bulkley, as I knew him, was an inspiration to me of humility and cheerfulness. He and I went to the Gulf States Mission together and were in the same district for a while.
My condolences to the family and friends who know him so intimately.

Judy & kids,
I feel a big loss with Van's passing. As you know, Van was like a father to me. He had a huge impact in my life for good.
Van gave me a chance to fulfill my goals to get into radio. He was always supportive when I came up with something different that I wanted to do on KPGR.
But he was also very involved and supportive of my life outside of KPGR. I enjoyed so much the times I spent visiting Van and you in your home over the years.
I am very saddened that I will not have the chance to talk with him when I finally get down to Utah in July, which would have been the first time I would have seen him since you both left for your mission to New England.
I was so happy that you got to serve where my family was from and where I served my mission. I loved getting your e-mails and hearing about your experiences there.
Please know that I really wanted to attend the funeral and will be thinking and praying for your family.
I hope you will be around in July when I make it down there, so I can stop by for a visit.

Judy,
Van was all about love and service. All my memories of him are of a smiling, thoughtful man who took time to listen. He is humble and pure. How fitting his passing was on Father's Day, a great tribute to a man who filled this role superbly! May you feel Dale's and my sympathies at this time. We ache to help you and ease your loss. Love, Bishop Dale and Elaine Kemp
