SARAH TAKOS Obituary

Sarah G. Jasperson Takos "Momma T" Sarah (Sally) Takos was born October 29, 1926 to Ervin Johnson Jasperson and Rebecca Ann Burraston in Goshen, Utah and passed away peacefully at home on August 31, 2010. Sarah graduated from Payson High School in 1944 and went to work in Salt Lake City. She met her eternal companion, James Gordon Takos, and was married June 21, 1946, later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She is survived by her husband and children: James E., Paul (Pam), Mark (Shauna), Barbara Moore (Kent); 11 grandchildren and two great-grand-children. Preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Sarah was blessed with a strong and courageous personality which helped her persevere through many ailments in life, including colon cancer and cobalt radiation. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sarah served faithfully in many callings. She especially enjoyed working in the library and with the Special Needs Primary children. Being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, having a compassionate ear, and her ability to make world-class macaroni and shrimp salad were her greatest accomplishments. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Sunbrook Home Health and Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Rose Park Stake Center, 1153 West 800 North, SLC (East Chapel). Viewing will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, SLC, and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services at the Stake Center.

Paul and Family:
I was sorry to read of the passing of your mom. As I see obituaries of friends from the past I stop and remember the times we shared. I remember meeting Sally for the first time when I was sixteen and how wonderful and kind she was then and always. I know you will have a void but the lord will bless and comfort you and your family at this time.

Sarah and my late Father, Charles Clinton Allen, were first cousins. I don't know that I remember meeting Sarah but my Dad used to talk about "Uncle Erv" and I suspect that Dad had been out to see Sarah on occasion. My condolences to the family.
