We wanted to add our deepest sympathy for the loss of such an amazing man. Our lives have been forever touched and changed for the better because of our friendship with Kendall. We will never forget his infectious smile and piercing eyes. His place in our lives and community will never be filled. But we will go on remembering the man he was and striving to be more like him. His example of kindness and love for everyone he came in contact with will always be in our thoughts. He wasa true disciple of Jesus Christ and you could see the bright spirit he carried with him everywhere he went. We truly feel blessed to have known a man that was like an angel on this earth who will now be in Angel in heaven looking out for his family and loved ones. We love you Kendall. Until we meet again. I gratefully add my name to the long list of those privileged to have known and been influenced for the better by Kendall. I worked (and sometimes played sports) along side him for the 8 1/2 years our family lived in Richfield and it is difficult for me to think of anyone I know who was more dependable, kind, optomistic and simply a pleasure to be around. All the best to his family and those who were closest to him.

December 17, 2013

Kendall was the Best "blood sucker" I've ever had and when things were really though for me with my health issues, he always made me smile & things didn't seem as bad. He was a dear friend & I know he's in a much better place now. So very sorry we couldn't make it today, due to the usual sicknesses that plague us all. However, our thoughts are with you all today & everyday. We love you all & pray that the Lord will bring much peace & comfort to you at this time.

All my love,

Dear Julie and family,

As Kendall's principal at Ashman Elementary, I was privileged to come to know Kendall and develop a close relationship with him as I watched him grow in both his academic and athletic talents. Some come into this world with very special talents, but it also takes a lot of hard work to develop them to the point Kendall developed his.

He didn't do all of this alone. He had a special partner in you, Julie, who worked beside him, encouraged him, and gave of yourself unconditionally.

Kendall's mother, Helen, was a super mom to all of her children. They have all become role models of how we should live our lives.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time in your lives. May the Lord comfort you and bless you with peace.

December 17, 2013

Julie and children, Kendall was one of the most genuine, kind, and personable men we have ever met. I loved working with Kendall, he was always so pleasant and a joy to everyone. We want you to to know that you are in our prayers and we would be there today, but I am just recovering from surgery. We also were blessed to have known Kendall and to have been touched by his sweet spirit. May you be blessed with the comfort of knowing your husband and Father was such an outstanding man and son of our Father in Heaven,, who he is now with. He will continue to be a light in your heart. God Bless you all through this very difficult time.

Dear Julie and kids & Barry:

Tim and I were so saddened by the recent news of Kendall's death. He was Tim's good friend, supportive co-worker, and tough sport's competitor. When we told our kids about his death our 27 year old daughter Sophie remembered him. When she was in middle school,12-15 years ago, she was trying to make the school basketball team and Tim would take her with him to early morning basketball at the church. Many of the men weren't happy to have a short, young, and unskilled girl join their games. Sophie's memory of Kendall was "I liked him! He would pass the ball to me." It occurs to me that that statement was a pretty good metaphor for Kendall's life. He cared about people, and wanted to see them grow. He was inclusive, involved, and generally made people and community better because he was around. He would pass the ball! We'll all miss him.

I was lucky enough to work with Kendall since 1999. I always loved coming to Richfield and that was because of Kendall and all the staff at Sevier Valley. Kendall was one of th0se wonderful students that I taught at the first of my career in education. However, I have been one of his students since then. He cheerfully and humbly taught us all whether it was in school, church, the community or at a sporting venue. He cared deeply about everyone with whom he came in contact and he was an avid supporter of his family. He is now needed elsewhere and perhaps we can best thank him for his service and kindness to us by treating and serving those around us as he has shown us. Cindy and I would like to express our deepest sympathy to his family and if there is anything we can do to assist you; please just ask.

I'm now retired from teaching after a long and happy 20 years. You can imagine how many students I've taught throughout my career. A handful really stand out and at the top of that list is my 6th-grade student Kendall Willardson. I was a new teacher at Ashman Elementary in Richfield, Utah, and was teaching 6th grade for the first time. Kendall stood out in every way. He was bright, talented, and had the cutest personality--filled with enthusiasm and a love for life. He and his dear friend Kenneth Monk used to play hard at recess so they could come stand over my desk, regaling me with their athletic exploits, all the while dripping with sweat all over my desk! I married during that year. My husband got to meet Kendall and his family. I just told Tomm of Kendall's passing and asked him if he remembered him. He enthusiastically replied in the affirmative and said, "Now that was one wonderful young man." Kendall stood out as a young man, and it sounds like he stood out equally as a man, a husband, a father, and a son of God. I am thrilled to note that he maintained his testimony of all that was eternal. What a blessing to know you will be with him again. I'm sending my deepest sympathy to all who loved and will miss him.
