Pat Joos was my mother-in-law for 26 years, and what a wonderful example she was to me. While raising eight terrific, successful children, she worked full time, but she was thoroughly devoted to her family. An example would be how she patiently and lovingly cared for Ann during her long illness. I remember family events that she planned and dinners that were amazing. She was a great cook, and I was always grateful for the chance to sit at her table. Her garden was also amazing. I remember many occasions when I would be visiting, and she would grab some sacks and take me out to the garden. We went up and down the rows, filling the bags with fresh vegetables for me to take home. What a treat! At Christmastime, she hand dipped her own chocolates, and everyone was given their own box full of those delicious confections.

I have written only a few examples that have come to mind, but she was the best gift of all. She was so pure, loving, kind, accepting, and understanding, and I will always remember that and try to live my life by her example.

My love and condolences to all her family,
Meg Piplar

Our sincere condolences to all of Pat's family. We did not get to know Pat well, but our sister, Meg Joos Piplar, always spoke so highly of Pat, telling us what a wonderful, multitalented woman, mother, grandmother she was.

We know you have suffered so much loss recently, and our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
