Faith Wilkes

Faith Pauline Hass Wilkes of Hesperia, CA, went home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 29, 2010. She is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Paul Wilkes, brother Charles Hass of Westlake Village, four children, James Wilkes of Newbury Park, Cynthia Miller of Hesperia, Paulette Byrne of Yorba Linda, and Thomas Wilkes of Sho Low, AZ. Faith also has eight grandchildren, Jenny, Jon, Julianna, Ellie, David, Jeanette, Grace, and Joanna, one great-granddaughter, Maddie, whom she was thrilled to enjoy visiting with, and another coming soon.
Faith was born on July 18, 1928 in Pasadena, CA, and grew up there and in La Habra Heights where her father planted the parent Hass Avocado tree. Faith is the daughter of famed Hass Avocado developer, Rudolph Hass. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rudolph_Hass
Faith cared for her beloved mother, Elizabeth Hass, in her home in Hesperia until her passing in 1997 at age 98. Faith devoted her life to family. Besides caring for her own husband, children, and mother, she also maintained ties with the extensive families of parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, nephews and nieces of both her own and her husband's families.
After her marriage in 1946 Faith lived in Pasadena, LA, El Segundo, and frequently visited her parents in Fallbrook. With young children, Paul & Faith bought their first home in Torrance, then moved to Yucaipa, Yorba Linda, and have lived in Hesperia for the past 22 years.
Faith has been an active member of High Desert Church where she helped take roll for the nursery dept. until recent years when her health began to fail. It had been assumed this was her heart until a month ago when the massive cancerous tumor that took her life was discovered in a CAT scan.
A memorial in celebration of Faith's life will be held in the Chapel at High Desert Church, 14545 Hook Blvd., Victorville, at 10:30 on Monday, August 30. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in her honor to the High Desert Chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship, PO Box 2797, Apple Valley, CA 92307.
