Prof. Patrick was my advisor for the minor in Religion at Drake. I graduated in 1990. He had a great sense of humor and, as is the case for religion professors, he was one well read dude. So smart. But he would joke that he was the lesser-known "Dale" just in his little religion department at Drake! lol. Thanks for the education, Dr. Patrick!

Dale will be missed greatly as an enthusiastic and ever-helpful scholar and churchman. His work on Law and God as character were for their time well ahead of the field. He is already and will be missed by all of us honored enough to have known him.

A great lecturer. Soft spoken, very witty and humorous. It was a great honour to listen to your wisdom. Rest in eternal peace. Will be sadly missed.

One of my mentors, who became a good friend. Such an engaged and humble teacher. Best I've ever had. He had a lot of influence on helping to shape what I've done in my life. Safe passage to beyond, Dale.

While I was pleasantly acquainted with Dale not long after he arrived at Drake and certainly held him in high regard, it wasn't until he joined the Great Readings Discussion Group that I coordinate that I really got to know him. He was a valued participant, upbeat, curious, interesting and certainly a contributor who was listened to. He faced serious illness bravely and determinedly--certainly a role model in that regard--and he will be missed by many, many people who know him.

Mary,

I remember many times when the Postscript Society met, the influence of Dale was felt. His arranging the special lecture on the historical Jesus at Drake also stands out in my memory.
Through the death and resurrection of our Savior, I believe we will meet again.

The deepest of sympathy to Mary for the loss of your husband. Dale was so firm in his beliefs, especially the one at Revelation, chapter 21 and verse 3 and 4. May fond times spent with him be an everlasting memory for you that will always be close to your heart.

Dear Mary, We have moved to La Crosse, so won't be running into you at the grocery parking lot! I appreciated Dale's contributions to our discussion; even when he disagreed he was certainly not disagreeable. I want to thank him and you for giving me the references to the flat earth mideaval teaching. I now say much less about that in the current version of my Book, which I intend to get published this year, if only on line. Again, my sympathy for your loss. Harold
