Helen L. Storey, 93, died October 4, at Urbandale Health Care. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 21, at First Federated Church, 4801 Franklin Avenue, Des Moines, of which she was a member. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Storey was born in Des Moines and lived here all her life, except for a short period of time in the 1970's when she lived in Greenwood, IN. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Commercial College. She was a secretary and worked for a law firm, First Federated Church, Pioneer Hybrid, Johnston Schools, and OMS International in Greenwood, IN. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, dominoes, traveling, canoeing, bicycling, and camping. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the church choir and Senior Singers with her husband. She enjoyed attending many sports and other activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, David (Linda) Storey of Tucson, AZ, Dennis (Deb) Storey of Urbandale, and Kate Stall of West Memphis, AR, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Storey, her parents, David and Marguerette Alden, and her sister, Margaret Bigham.

Memorial contributions may be made to the mission fund at First Federated Church. Condolences may be directed to www.caldwellraddatz.com

Denny and Family , so sorry for your loss. I remembered your mother when she was the secretary at Johnston High. She was always so nice and had such beautiful dark hair and pleasant smile. Sincerely Robbie Thompson Blythe
