Zowie Kile Obituary
Des Moines
Zowie Ann Kile, age 7, earned her Angel Wings on Thursday August 4, 2011 after her courageous fight with AML Leukemia. Zowie was born on January 8, 2004 to the parents of Jon and Josie Kile of Des Moines, IA.
Zowie had courageously fought AML Leukemia since the age of 3 at St. Jude Children Research Hospital. She had four relapses with this disease and still kept a smile on her face to the very end. She taught more people about love and compassion and what it meant to never give up hope. She enjoyed making new friends at St. Jude and always thinking of them before herself. Zowie especially loved the camera, she was always doing new photo shoots for St. Jude and had the brightest smile on her face. Zowie enjoyed fishing, camping, playing mommy with her babies, pushing her cat Tiger, which was her best friend, around in her stroller and dressing him up, and most of all playing with her big sister Mryia. Zowie was able to go on her dream fishing trip to Hawaii July 17, 2011. Her last wish that was full-filled was her biggest of all, getting to speak with Ozzy Osbourne. He sang her favorite song "I'm Not Going Away" on the Tuesday before she passed. As Zowie was in her final hours of meeting Jesus, her parents were playing her that song. Zowie may have gone from Earth but will never go away in our Hearts.
Zowie was preceded in death by her great-grandfather Scott Boodry and many of her St. Jude Family.
Those left to cherish Zowie's memory include her parents, Jon and Josie Kile of Des Moines; her sister, Mryia of Des Moines; God-Parents, Mary (Mark) Little-VanEaton of Menlo; Grandparents, Stephen Schai Farris, Springfield, MO, Dorothy (Tom) Boodry of Kingsport,TN, Ron Kile of Des Moines and Bobby (Rebecca) Hopkins of South Carolina; Great-Grandparents, Sandy Boodry of Des Moines, Bob Walker of Des Moines, and Lois Kile of Yale; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends (St. Jude Family), and the entire Team Zowie Family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Kile family at 4601 SW 3rd St Des Moines IA 50315.
A Celebration of Zowie's life will be Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Cottonwood Recreation Shelter #4 (up by the dam) at Saylorville, IA.

13 years tomorrow Zowie....Still remember like was yesterday when I got the sad news from St. Jude....I cried for hours ...... I still have a promise to keep. I haven't forgotten Little Angel.

In this time of our sorrow may each of you know that you are loved. Zowie loved you all and still does. She just can't speak to you anymore as we know speaking. Just look around at the trees and flowers, the birds in the air, or maybe just a quiet place to sit and reflect on this amazing child of God. May you know that she is resting in the arms of the Lord.

Zowie is my granddaughter and she was loved by all that met her. Her strength and desire to fight was very strong.Zowie has shown us all that we need to look at our lives and say you know we ain't got it so bad. so when you get sad and think the world is kickin your butt just remember Zowie and remember her strength and fight. I had the opportunity of meeting Zowie briefly last summer(June/2010). She was as sweet & precious as any child could be.Zowie,you no longer have to be embarrassed,you may now play like other children,you'll feel no more pain,they'll NEVER poke or prod your body again,&could ya give Great Grandpa Scott a big hug&kissfrom me...maybe just say"Hi",please?You are surely Loved by so many Zowie.God Bless You & Your family. Angels walk among us and now one went to heaven. Her courage and faith I am sure affected many others. I never met Zowie I would hear about her thru friends saying she needed prayer. Now you're with your Father in Heaven. So I will pray more for your family and friends. Zowie you left an imprint on many peoples hearts and lives and that is just the way God meant it to be.

Kile family, you has an amazing daughter, sister, granddaughter, neice, and God daughter. I never had the chance to meet her but kept a very close eye and supported her as much as we could. I loved watching videos of her that were posted. She stole my heart. Always had a smile on her face and those eyes. I loved the strength of her and the people behind her.
