I will never forget John's sweet smile, his occasional e-mails just to "check in", and the all-night poker games at my house (years ago)! How we will miss him! He truly was a loyal, kind, and honorable person.

For almost 30 years there was no difference if we saw each other everyday or had a 6 month gap, we fell in like it had only been seconds. That is the true sign of friendship. Genuine, loyal, and supportive. I can't help but feel that I am who I am due in no small part from knowing John. I'll keep him with me for the rest of my life, so many good times. I am so glad that he was an important part of my life.
I love you brother, save me a seat at the table.

John, memories of you go back to when Laura and Steve were married over 20 years ago. Your smile and friendly personality won us over completely. Our visits with you were few, but always left a nice impression. Thanks for always sending us a Christmas card. We, along with your family, will miss you but know that heaven welcomed you with open arms.

Love,
Ginny and Lee Cox

Perkins is what I always called you. I have some many memories of just you and I together walking Meadowbrook Golf Course, Hanging at your house and listening to your dads liquid cooled stereo (awesome) of course with Pink Floyd playing. I also remember most always strapping on the 45' Colt Western and feeling like I was ready to be Clint Eastwood or maybe Gun Smoke. Most of all Perkins I remember how genuine your friendship was and how big of a heart you had for everyone. I will truly miss you. All that has been written before me is so spot on, your laugh and your heart. I rest assured that your in a place that I will be able to visit you again when time comes.

Uncle John, I remember that you would always come over and see us when we went to see Granny in Fort Worth. You would stay outside with me and Peachie when we played in Granny's backyard. I remember when you bet me a dollar that I couldn't jump rope 20 times in a row. Ha ha -- I got that dollar, and another one when I jumped rope some more. When I think of that memory I smile. I am glad you are in heaven and are not in pain anymore.
