I had the pleasure of working with Fred at the Kimbell. We were always talking about photography or model airplanes. He was a fun guy and a joy to visit with.
My condolences to his family.

Fred was a dear friend to all his associates at the Kimbell Art Museum and it was a splendid gift to work with him. I will remember him for his great range of interests, his gentlemanly persona, and his great love and affection for Kay. Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We offer our sincere condolences to his wife, Kay, his son, David, his daughter, Valerie, and his entire family. May God's blessings sustain you and may your memories bring you comfort.

Some fond memories:
As youngsters, Fred and Don flying U-control in the schoolyards and free flight at the flying fields in Chicago.
Car trips we took over the years to our old neighborhoods in Chicago to see if our houses were still standing and how disappointed we were to find an empty lot.
Picking Fred & Kay up at Midway Airport. Knowing that Fred needed his "Fix", our first stop was at White Castle for burgers. Growing up in Chicago, we couldn't get enough "sliders"!
Riding the South Shore electric train to the Chicago loop, having lunch at Marshall Field's (Macy's), hitting a few camera stores, and finally a stop at Garrett's for caramel corn to eat on our way home.
The many Parker High School reunions. One year Fred copied every graduate's picure from the 1950 yearbook and attached them to nameplates so the graduates could recognize each other at the reunion.
Fred had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great friend. WE WILL MISS HIM.
