James Callaway Obituary

James L. "Jim" Callaway, 80, passed away peacefully at a local hospital Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010. Service: 12:30 p.m. Friday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Diabetes Association, Box 11454, Alexandria, Va. 22312, or the Hurst Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, City of Hurst, 1505 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas 76054. Jim graduated from the University of North Texas and retired from Abbott Labs. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Jim was very active in the Hurst Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Mark. Survivors: Wife of 54 years, Peggy Callaway; sons, Darren and wife, Sharon, Curtis and wife, Dawn, Kent and wife, Kelly, and daughter-in-law, Tyrene; grandchildren, D.J. and wife, Courtney, Collin and wife, Morgan, Jordan, Conner, Taylor, Courtney and Brendan; many other relatives and friends; and faithful dog, Riley.
