Just today, I learned of Deriel's passing. I'm so sorry and would have attended the funeral if I had known.I will always treasure having had the great honor and pleasure of knowing him.He was a fine man,kind and generous, with unquestionable integrity.He will be greatly missed. To the Hix family,
this is ed lowe and i just want to say how sick and sorry i am for your loss. i literally just found out today at 2:30pm while traveling back from Abilene. i soooooo would have attended the funeral but just discovered it was today at 10. terry, you and your dad have been very faithful, kind, and simply the best over the years at fixing everything that breaks and i will surely miss seeing your dad. one consolation, knowing Jesus, his job of repairing isn't needed anymore and thinking about his new life, in heaven, with Jesus, and loved ones....thats heaven. again, very sorry to hear this...ed lowe...burleson.

My thoughts and, prayers are with all who knew Deriel. such a wonderful man. I will be missing all of my bear hugs he gave me every time I saw him. Dear Hix Family (Terry & Vicki),
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Your dad was a great and sweet person. I so enjoyed our little visits and his old stories. I will miss him dearly. He had a great sense of humor and lots of wisdom and I am blessed that I got to know him in these last 3 years, even though it was brief. I loved the stories he would tell me about his family and his adventures in business. He will truely be missed by all that knew him.

What a great spirit Deriel was and never in all the years I knew him did I not see a smile on his face. He was also a great story teller that added lots of humor to the conversation.
I know you boys will have a void in your hearts but know he is not suffering any longer and is again with your mom both watching over all you.
