Joy Ann, Bob, Blake,
I want to send my deepest condolences to you. When I first met Barrett at FWCD I knew he was a leader and his work ethic and passion in every aspect of his life was unbelievable. You both instilled these principles in Barrett that was obvious by his great character. People followed him because he led by example and it was truly an honor to coach him. I know Blake always looked up to Barrett and they were both very supportive of each other and all their accomplishments.. which was always special to see. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers!

Dear Bob and Joy Ann,
Last Thursday, I met Barrett's good friends Ashton, Chris and Rob at a chartiy golf outing in Dallas, and I was intrigued and moved by their compassion and remembrance of their friend. I was moved enough to find out more about Barrett as I did not know him. Since reading about Barrett, I can say he was an indominable spirit who touched many people in a powerful and positive manner. Hence, I extend my deep condolences to you and your family through this guest book. With best regards and deepest sympathy, God Bless you.

I was heartbroken to get the call from Richard about Barrett. Malcolm had been trying to get in touch with us all. Please know that all of your Mississippi Delta cousins are so very sorry about your loss. Although we watched him mature through the years on your very special Christmas cards, I only wish we had really known him. He was quite obviously a very special and talented young man. These last few days have brought back memories of Walker who, as you know, adored you and would have been there by your side.
With love to you, Bob, Blake and your mother

This great loss has been heavy on my mind since I read it on Friday - All of the things that Barrett accomplished during the short time he was here is simply amazing! I would have been honored to know such a remarkable young man. Though this loss seems senseless and there are many unanswered questions, someday we will understand. Barrett knew to live his life fast and furious and did that. Christine and the family of Barrett you will be lost for now, but god will help you through it with all of the beautiful memories. Bless you all and just anticipate the day to reunite with Barrett.

Wow. This is totally unexpected. I enjoyed a very special phone call with Barrett just last week. I was sitting in Dr. Bob's chiropractic office bellyaching about getting therapy. We bragged on each other and kidded about who had the world best by the tail, me or him. He told me he was in love and he was hitting on all cylinders. His levity and joie d'vivre was the highlight of a very tough week for me. Barrett had a special way of making ya smile. Barrett was a good friend and I will miss him.

Bob, Joy Ann and Blake...you are all loved, as was Barrett. He was a mentor to my son Garrett, a fellow decathlete currently at Tulane and big brother in the BBBS organization. Garrett dedicated his recent meet at Rice and his season to Barrett! He told me he was so tired during one of the races and that the only thing that got him through it and with an extra kick was Barrett!! Thank you for the quality of raising magnificent children. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Havran and Family, I don't know you personally, but I am a Fort Worth native who read your son's obituary, and it is very obvious that you raised a wonderful son, brother, and friend to many. As a mother, I feel your pain as I am touched by the many wonderful comments expressed by all of your dear Barrett. May God continue to be with you during this difficult time, and in days to come, to know that you will see Barrett again in Glory. Bless you all, Joni

Mr. and Mrs. Havran and Blake,
I was so fortunate to see the loving devotion that all of you showed to each other when I was teaching at FWCD. Joy Ann, I cannot think of any mother who loved, nurtured or cared for her sons more than you. You were a blessing in Barrett's all too short life. Blake, I remember how proudly you spoke of your brother and this loss must be deeply felt by you. As inadequate as this may be, I am so very sorry for your loss. Praying for all of you.

Dear Bob, Joy Ann, Blake, Mary Elizabeth and Christine,
I can't begin to imagine the pain you all feel right now, so I won't even try to say I know how you feel.
I just got back from the most BEAUTIFUL Service I have ever in my life attended. I only had the pleasure of meeting Barrett on two occasions so I didn't know him well at all, but the service today and the comments from his many friends and family members spoke volumes. What a huge loss to the world.
Please know that you are all in my prayers and thoughts and Bob, yes I will remember you and your beautiful family on "D-Day" every year for the rest of my life.
Joy Ann, as a Mother I have so very much admiration for you and the strength it took for you to stand in front of all of us and speak so proudly and respectfully of the Son you just lost.
I am going to take my youngest son (who is also 31) out to dinner tonight and hold him tight as I kiss him good night and I will be thinking of you and your loss.
Please know that you are all in my prayers. God Bless your family during this very difficult time.

here in Ireland we're desperately, desperately sorry for this tragic event.
