Cecil Zack "C.Z." Irvin, 87, passed away Friday, Jan. 7, 2011. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Cecil was born May 10, 1923, in Fort Worth to Edward Piece and Beulah Cary Irvin. Cecil served in the United States Army and was a veteran of World War II. He retired from Southwestern Bell after 38 1/2 years of dedicated service. He was married to his loving wife and best friend, Evelyn "Jerri" Bulin Irvin, for the past 64 years. Cecil loved spending time with family and friends at their lake home in Palo Pinto Lake where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, John and Vernon Irvin; and sisters, Viola, Thelma and Laura Mae. Survivors: Wife, Evelyn G. Irvin of Fort Worth; sons, John Irvin and wife, Cindy, of Frisco and Mike Irvin and wife, Marianne, of Mansfield; daughter, Karen and her husband, Dr. Joe Wheeler, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Melissa Cordell and husband, Brent, of Houston, Jon-Michael Irvin and wife, Monica, of San Mateo, Calif., Leigh Ann Cole and husband, Terry, of Fort Worth; Marci Kirkpatrick and husband, Brian, of Double Oak, Kirsten Irvin of Sausalito, Calif., Leslie Harris of Fort Worth and Casey Harris and wife, Yardley, of Fort Worth; and 10 great-grandchildren.
