Condolences for your grief. He was a wonderful teacher who taught his students so much more than scripture. He lived and taught the Living Word, Jesus Christ.

As a student at Lexington Theological Seminary in the mid-1960s, I had the privilege of majoring in New Testament with Dr. Baird. His teaching style was one which affected my own later. I have read most of his books, even the most recent. Continuing to learn at 76 is his legacy to me.

Time slips away; I didn't realize Bill and were that far apart in age! My condolences to Shirley and family. Bill - the first prof. of New Testament who refreshingly unfolded the scriptures and endowed me with a wish to continue learning more. ROBERT STEFFER

Dr. Baird was perhaps the kindest professor I had in my graduate studies at Brite Divinity School. He taught the God's Word with great clarity. He will be missed and he left a great legacy of scholarship and excellence.

Lisa, Eric, and All who knew Bill, I join you as we suffer in the loss of a wonderfully patient, gentle, kind and loving man. Talented in so many ways, Bill gave much to his family and the communities he served he was truly a devoted servant and Messenger of God. My admiration and love for him has never waned, and that love lives on in my memories of him. His long life is testament to The Lord's desire to share this good man with so many people please be at peace with the comfort of knowing that we were and will always be blessed and enriched by this tender-hearted soul. Peace be with you all.

Bill was my New Testament at Lexington. When I was ill, he brought my studies to me. His kindness, friendship and love will never be forgotten. When we attended the General Assembly in 2017, the biggest vacancy was not having a meal with Bill and Shirley. Thoughts, love and prayers to all the family. Jerry and Gladys Sawyer

Bill and Shirley served
others any way they could. They took many
