Davis was born June 1, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio, to Charles Jr. and Dannette Davis Palmer. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School in Columbus, Ohio, received his undergraduate degree from Miami of Ohio and received his graduate degree from Ohio State University. Davis moved to the Dallas area to work for EDS. He married Kathy Parmley and once they started their family, they made Trophy Club their home. He was an active member in his community. He served two terms as president of the board and was privileged to present diplomas to his children, Zach and Kali, upon their graduation. In addition, he served the Roanoke Food Pantry, Boy Scout Troop 328, various athletic teams and other local charities. Davis was a loving husband and father; his family was his pride and joy. He was devoted to his family and friends and he loved sharing with them special time at "The Lake," his passion for football, especially THE Ohio State Buckeyes, and his extensive knowledge and love of music. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and mother-in-law, Carolyn Hill Parmley. Davis had extremely fond memories of his grandparents, Ralph and Dorothy Davis ... there are not many people that have not heard Davis tell a story about his wonderful grandparents that he loved dearly. I went to school with Davis in Upper Arlington and was looking forward to seeing him at our 40th reunion this year. I am so sad. My heart goes out to his wife and children. Know that your husband and dad was loved by all that knew him as a young man. That he was a talented performer and a good friend. He will be missed.

I knew Davis as a youth in Upper Arlington, Ohio. Fun guy, easy going, and really a gentle and positive person.
We are having a 1971 class reunion July 2, 2011 in Columbus and we will no doubt raise a beer to Davis!

Dear Palmer family - I worked for Davis for several years at UHC. He gave me the opportunity to promote into a very rewarding job, but more than that, he did his best to help me succeed in the position. He was a great mentor, always looked out for the people who worked for him, and was always willing to teach and to share. I owe a great deal of my professional success to him. My thoughts and prayers are with you. It is so difficult to lose a husband and a father. I do know that he loved you very much - he spoke of you all often when we worked together and he was so proud of all of you. Please accept my very sincere condolences. Sharon Wolodkin

Kathy, Zach & Kali,
We have had you in our hearts and prayers since we heard the sad news from Marty & Chuck. We have interacted with you all several times in the last few years. We especially remember being hosted in your lovely home in November of 2002. Your hospitality was warm and welcoming. This is a stunning loss for you and for the extended family. We pray that God will comfort all of you and walk beside you as you travel through this valley. We have few words to express our care for you. May God bless you as you go forward. Pat & Jon Carlson

I was very saddend to read of Davis's untimely death. I knew him through his employment with UHC. Over the years we developed a warm relationship based on our mutual love of local government involvement. Davis was a great heart and had a sound approach to what local governemnt could and should accomplish. He was a good man.
