i was thinking of my best friends Eric. I searched his name and found this site. it makes me smile reading all the Pizza Hutt stories as they were all so real as i remember...down to the new 20 dollar bills. i worked with Eric at MrGattis Pizza. Myself, Lisa, Cherie, and Becky went everywhere together. Eric had a Red Camaro and i had a blue Firebird back in those days and both delivered pizza. The most fun job I have ever had. We were best friends. I still find myself thinking of him at times and it always makes me smile first then cry. Eric would come to visit me in AZ after i left TX thats how close of a bond we had. i wonder what it would be like to spend another day with him. I know i would be laughing non stop as he was the most creative and funny person i have ever met. i dont know why im writing any of this as nobody will ever see these words more than likely. i just miss my friend. I am 48 years old now and going to high school with him at Trinity and working at Mr Gattis seems like another lifetime. Eric if you are watching down i miss you very much and i want you to know i have never forgotten my friend. i hope we see one another again when i leave this earth. i love you brother

I just found out about this today. I taught both Eric and Jamie at Spring Garden and Eric went on a summer trip with us to Washington DC. Both of your children have a special place in my heart. I will pray for God to comfort you and keep you until you see them again.

There aren't many people who I've shared deep-down belly laughs with. These were the kind of laughs that lasted so long that I felt my consciousness slipping away. In the time I worked with Eric at Pizza Hut, this was a nightly experience. I wish I'd made more of an effort to contact him in the 15 or so years that have since passed. I'm so sorry about your loss. I'm quite certain that Eric knows now if he was correct when he told me (with enough volume to allow all of 76021 to hear) that "God also has red hair!"

Barry and Marcia, I just have to make an additional comment. After the Funeral listening to comments about Eric and reading the comments on this page, Eric turned out to be a Wonderful Young Man. I know he said it was like winning the lottery having you 2 as parents, but sounds like to me you guys won the lottery receiving him a son... How proud you must be to have raised such a fine Human Being... What an Awesome individual he was, and touched so many lives in such a positive way, truely remarkable.

Marcia and Barry - Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Eric was quite the ray of sunshine and we will miss him. He had a wonderful spirit and sense of humor and I know we will all cherish our time with him.

My husband and I are very sorry for your loss. I worked with Eric at Pizza Hut, and I would close with him. He would always race me to get the phone's. I would go to work with candy or snacks and I would always ask Eric if he wanted some, and he would just smile and say, "No I'm on a diet and I have to watch my figure!" When I would make mini corndogs and fries he would have some though! :) He always made work fun, He would always put us in a good mood. You could not be there and be in a bad mood around him. I loved this past Christmas because Eric would come in from delivery's singing christmas songs while he was cleaning up. I will also never look at money the same now! He would take all his ones and fives to change them in for twenty's at the end of the night, but If I gave him a old bill, he would just give me this discusted look and ask for a better twenty dollar bill! LOL I will miss you so much Eric! Thanks for all the great memory's!!!

Nature

As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.

Marcia,
Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
We've not traveled in your shoes but we've experienced the loss of a loved one. You're in our prayers. We can only imagine what you may be experiencing right now. Hold on to the precious memories and know God makes no mistakes.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

Your son was one of the best friends and co-working that anyone could have asked for. He was the reason I loved that job. It was an absolute pleasure and honor to get to spend as much time with him as I got to. Pizza Hut will never be the same because he was the life of that place. Neither will Tuesday night pool games. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Marcia,
You and your family are in my prayers. May you totally rely on God for your strength to get you through this time during the homegoing celebration of your loved one.

May I leave you with these words;

Raising his hands he whispered fly sweet child fly,
Heed all my children should you hear them cry.
Lift up every spirit comfort every single sad heart,
A new journey today as an angel you shall start.

May God keep you!

Barry and Marcia,

I cannot even imagine the pain you are having to endure over this tragedy. Carol Josserand shared the information with me via Facebook and I instantly thought of babysitting Eric when he was a toddler and you lived in IL!! I remember an adorable little red headed boy with big cheeks that was so sweet and lovable!! Sounds like he remained so throughout life. I hope you find comfort in sweet memories during this terrible time. Know that old friends in IL are thinking of you. Many prayers for you,

Stacey (Atteberry) Hubbard
