I worked at J.L. Matthews Company in the 1970's. Mr. Joe Matthews was a kind and generous boss and person. He seemed to inspire others to strive to become better people. Thank you Lord for letting this man touch our lives.

Commander Joe's vision went far beyond the "lower 48"; he was a great friend of the foreign departments of The American Legion. The Department of Mexico wishes him a warm "Vaya con Dios" as Joe goes to his heavenly reward.
Michele N. Sandridge's message (earlier today) is right on the money.

Uncle Joe kept our earthly family together and I'm comforted in the reassurance that he has joined them in heaven. Uncle Joe was the best uncle-never failing to care for all of his brothers's families when they needed him.Much love-your neice-Judi
