Barbara Bouton Obituary

Bouton Barbara L. Bouton, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015. She was born on April 4, 1944 in Cincinnati. She was a graduate of Waverly High School and The Ohio State University. She worked with special education students in the Cinnaminson NJ public schools and later worked at the Midwest University Consortium for International Activities at Ohio State. Barbara touched many lives as a wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, goddaughter, aunt, in-law, niece, cousin and friend. In NJ, she was a past member of the Riverton Porch Club, Calvary Presbyterian Church, as well as a volunteer for several organizations. A past president of the OSU Women's Club, she also was active in several of the groups within it - Toymakers, International Dining, Gourmet and Cosmopolitan. An avid genealogist, she had served on the executive committee of the American Clan Lockhart Society, and recently served as the newsletter editor, genealogist and executive committee member of the Frisbie Frisbee Family Association. She developed a love of the Hawaiian Islands and often visited there with family members and friends. She is survived by her husband, Peter Bouton; father, Max Russell; and six children, Christopher (Laura) Bouton, Melanie (Greg) Moloney, Chris (Lisa) Bleiholder, Gregory (Tricia) Bouton, Phillip (Elysabeth) Bouton, Jennifer (Michael) Phillips; 12 grandchildren, Katarina, Marshall, Abby, Madison, Ellie, Matthew, Caedin, Megan, Tessa, Andrew, Riley and Evie; several aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother May Russell, her first husband Roland Bleiholder, and her grandson Carson. A remembrance of her life will be held on Friday, January 16 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, Ohio, 43085. Calling hours will be held from 4-5 p.m. with a memorial at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
