Alice and John retired and moved to Belton, Texas in order to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren who were living in Houston and San Antonio. Her loving husband of 46 years, John, passed away in 1996 and Alice moved to San Antonio, Texas. In 2007, Alice joined the Wesleyan community in Georgetown. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Sibyl Spielman, brother Jerome David Schlottmann and brother-in-law Paul Ambrose.
