Donald Killilea Obituary

KILLILEA Donald Richard Killilea, age 75, Saturday, May 9, 2009. Former member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and St. Pius X Church. Veteran of the US Navy. Served in the USS Yorktown during the Korean War. Member of DSCC Golf Course and Officers Club, Don was an avid golfer in his spare time. Graduated Aquinas College High School. Employed by 7Up Bottling Company, retired from Ecolab. Preceded in death by parents Madeline C. and Thomas J. Killilea, brothers Terrence J., Thomas J. Jr., George M. Sr., sister Mary Margaret, brother-in-law Eugene Trainor. Survived by wife of 49 years, Patricia; daughters, Jacqueline (Stephen) Hunter and Diane (David) Lukacsko; sons, Charles R., Donald A. (Terri); grandchildren, Danni Jo (Tom) Nader, Samantha Killilea and their mother, JoAnne DiGiovanni, Christopher, Kelsey, Jesse, and Jamie Killilea, Ashley, Aubrey, Aleece Lukacsko and Taylor Hunter. Also survived by many nieces and nephews; brothers, Jerome (Louneal), James J. Sr., Timothy (Mary Ann), Michael D. (Bobbi), Dennis S. (Sheila), John J. (Jane); sisters, Kathleen (Anthony) Mayo, Sharon (Marvin Romanoff) Drake, Maureen Trainor, and Eileen (Gerald) Dill; sister-in-law, Carol Killilea. Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. Broad St. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2692 E. Fifth Ave. Private Burial. Don was a deeply devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren who loved him dearly. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The James Cancer Hospital at the Ohio State University, 300 W. 10th Ave., Columbus, Oh. 43210 or St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 2692 E. Dear Pat, I worked with Don at Ecolab. He taught me a great deal before he retired from there. I will always remember his laugh and sense of humor. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. To the Killlea Family... It is with much sadness that I learned the passing of your husband ,father, Grandfather and friend. I met Mr. Killilea when I was a young Lady when I befriended his daughter; Jackie. Mr. Killilea was a wonderful person and you could tell he loved and admired his family.... May God bless and keep each of you during your time of sorrow. I know he will be sadly missed but just remember how much he loved each and everyone of you!
