James Ferguson Obituary

FERGUSON James H. Ferguson, age 82, of Carroll, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Diley Ridge Medical Center. Born March 13, 1928 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Alton Benton and Mabel (Adkins) Ferguson, he was a graduate of Huntington East High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the retired state auditor for the Ohio Department of Transportation, and was a member of Logos Bible Church in Pickerington, and the Torks Model Flying Club. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Ferguson; children, Annamarie (Scott) Kraner, James Patrick Ferguson, Ph.D., Diane Leslie Ferguson, David Michael (Julie) Ferguson; grandchildren, Nathaniel Newman, Kayla McFarland and Nicholas Ferguson; sisters, JoAnn (George) Patroulis, Sandra (Bill) Jones; brother, Alton Benton Ferguson; nieces and nephews. Friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Logos Bible Church, 623 Hill Rd. N. (St. Rt. #256), Pickerington, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Pastors John Chase and Mike Roddy officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at Carroll Cemetery. Friends who wish may contribute to Logos Bible Church in Jim's memory. Arrangements by DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, Canal Winchester. So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I worked with Jim for many years at ODOT. I had a lot of respect for him.

Even though I didn't know Jim for a long time, he always had a smile on his face and a kind word. I only wish that I could have had more time to get to know him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all, and I hope you take some comfort in knowing that he is with God, and we will see him again.

Penny, Anna, Dave, Pat and Dianne...

I am so very sorry for your great loss. Jim was a very nice man who was a lot of fun to work with at ODOT. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone. I truly respected him and his work ethics. I will miss him and his sense of humor.
