To all the Thickstun's: I cannot being to tell you how heavy my heart is. Joanne is definitely one of the most amazing women I have ever known. She was like a mother to me when I needed one, she gave advice that I still pass on to this day, her life was lived so fully and was so interesting that she had all these wonderful stories to share from so many life experiences. I had the honor of sitting next to her desk for almost 5 years. It definitely was not long enough. I can't begin to explain the impact she had on my life as a young woman in her early 20's I don't know what I would have done without your parents on so many occasions. Joanne was such a blessing in my life. I will miss her funny emails, her stories and knowing that she loved me even though we were so far apart geographically. I always knew that if I needed her, all I had to do was call. It was an honor knowing her and I can't wait to see her again.

To the family of Miss Joanne
Our condolences go out to the family. I met Miss Joanne right after my mother passed away and from that time on she was like a new found mother to me. Over the years she gave nothing but good advise, didn't always listen but now that I look back it was always good. I will always remember the many talks we had through out the years, they are only a few of the wonderful memories I have of her from the 27 yrs that I have known her. She will be sadly missed. There is a great sadness in my heart, she was such a special lady. She had lots of patience to put up with my family. We came and went through the years. She was a great teacher, from loving, working, cooking and home improvements. She also tried to teach me the importance of life, unfortunately as all youths, it took a little longer to learn. I will definately miss her but I will always remember her words of wisdom. Love Kim Bartholomew
