Ray Wetherell Obituary

WETHERELL Ray E. Wetherell Jr., age 87, of Pickerington, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009. He was born January 23, 1922, to the late Ray and Eula Wetherell. Ray was a 1939 graduate of Pickerington High School and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Augusta at the Invasion of Normandy. He was President of the former Wetherell Dairy and a broker for Smith Dairy; 60 year member of the Reynoldsburg Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Aladdin and Tarhe Shrine; Baltimore VFW Post #3761 and American Legion Post 283. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; daughters, Marilyn (Mike) Mason, Karen (Chuck) Keller, Becky (Mark) Landy and their mother Birnadine; grandsons, Matthew and Stephen Landy; nieces, nephews; and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda, siblings Evelyn Beals, Robert, Edwin and James Wetherell. Friends may visit Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. (Masonic Service 7:30 p.m.) at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. North (St. Rt. 256), Pickerington, Ohio 43147, where the funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. Interment Violet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital or a charity of choice in Ray's memory. Online condolences at www.spencefuneralhome.com
