Robert Hoskey Obituary

HOSKEY Robert E. Hoskey Sr., age 92, of Abigail Lane, Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Knox Community Hospital. He was born on September 23, 1916 in Columbus, Oh. to the late Anthony and Mary (Steiber) Hoskey. Robert was a Ohio State Highway Patrolman from which he retired in 1969 as a Sergeant. He was also employed at Bank One in Columbus for twelve years. Robert was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Danville. He is survived by his wife, of over 74 years, Helen (Dewitt) Hoskey; a daughter, Marla Jean (Don) Wirt of Hurst, Tex.; a son, Robert (Helen) Hoskey of Mansfield, Oh.; eight grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son Allen Hoskey and three sisters Florence Orr, Margurite Major and Martha Menke. Friends may call on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the FLOWERS-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, from 6-8 p.m. A service will be held on Friday, at the funeral home, beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bege Wiegman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Gambier. Memorial contributions can be made to: Zion Lutheran Church, Handicap Fund, 20177 Wooster Rd., Danville, Oh. 43014. My condolences to the Bob Hoskey family. I believe Bob and I were classmates in Columbus attending Clinton elem.,Crestview Jr. Hi. and North High. I lost track of him somewhere along the way but will always remember him as one of the "good guys".
