Margaret Stroede Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2009.
STROEDE Margaret "Marte" Stroede died of cancer at Kobacker House September 16, 2009. Born in Eldora, Ia., she attended the University of Tulsa and worked part-time as a flight attendant with Braniff. Graduating with a B.A. in painting and artistry, she continued with Braniff until her marriage to Richard Stroede. In the '70s she created Cheeser's Palace in Zanesville, Oh. Later, she worked in real estate and as a stockbroker, retiring in 2005. A Reiki master/teacher, Lifecoach and Body Talk certified practitioner, Marte embraced many alternative healing techniques. Her smile lit up a room, and her zest for life touched everyone she met. She is survived by numerous cousins and close friends who became her "family of the heart." In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Columbus Foundation, Marte Stroede Foundation for Healing, 1234 E. Broad St., Columbus 43205. A "Celebration of Life" will be held October 3, 2009. Messages of condolences can be sent to www.caringbridge.org (website: martestroede).

Marte was a great friend to my grandparents and especially my grandfather after my grandmothers death. She had one of the nicest smiles. Marie is missed by me but I know is partying with my grandparents in heaven.

Marte was one of my Dad's best friend in his later life. The joy she gave Dad was something I will always remember. She was also a great friend of all of our family. I also had many wonderful times with Martie. Jeanne Snyder Newburgh, In.

I will miss you Marte. Marte always smiled and was always so positive. She was the companion of my grandfather Wilson Cole. His passing was devastating to Marte but he would not have lived that long if it had not been for Marte. God Bless you Marte you will be missed by many.

I had the pleasure to have worked with Marte at PaineWebber (downtown branch) in the 1980s. She was a real professional and would light up a room with her smile which was contagious. She will be missed.

I worked with Marte for years and she always had a smile on her face and a story to tell. She will be missed.
