Daniel Fronk Obituary

Fronk Daniel Allen Fronk, 81, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, passed away on June 18, 2017. Born in Dover, Ohio, December 28, 1935, Dan was the third of ten children by Edward Henry and Mary Viola Fronk. Dan was a gentleman of high integrity and generous spirit. He served as a role model in his love and dedication toward his family and friends. Having had the privilege of playing football for The Ohio State University under the watchful eye of Coach Woody Hayes, Dan brought a unique level of intensity to life, family, work and friendships. Dan was married to Jody Ann Langen and was the proud father of two children, Mary Lynn (Charles) Phillips of New York, NY and Daniel George (Kelly) Fronk of Columbus, OH. Prior to Jody's death in 1996, Dan resided in the Columbus, OH area. He was a Senior Executive Vice President and Board Member of The Ohio Company, served on the Board of Directors for Bob Evans Farms, Inc., and remained and active member and mentor in the business community up until his retirement. He was an avid competitor and enjoyed all sports, but was partial to bridge, tennis, and playing golf with his buddies "The Old Geezers". He enjoyed a supportive network of close friends within the Upper Arlington community and St. Agatha Parish. Dan remarried Elsa Sue Stillwagon in 1999, moved to St. Simon Island, GA and later to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL where he broadened his circle of friends and took pleasure in a life of retirement and travel. Dan was adored by his grandchildren, Charles Louis Philips, Lucy Kindred Philips, Daniel Gatling Fronk and Ella Elaine Fronk. Through his marriage with Sue, Dan had the opportunity to expand his family to include Daniel (Trish) Dilley and their children Haley and Maddie. Dan will be remembered most for his unwavering love of family and his tenacityHe put up a strong fight to the very end. Donations can be made on Dan's behalf to Golden Iles Youth Orchestra, PO Box 603, Brunswick, GA 31521 or The Woody and Anne Hayes National Championship Athletic Scholarship Fund, The Ohio State University Foundation, 1480 W Lane Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43221. This fund was established to help cover costs for former Ohio State football players to finish earning their degree. A memorial service and celebration of life is being planned and will be held at a later date. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus OH 43221. So sorry to have lost Dan! The world was a much better place with him in it. Dan and I worked closely together at The Ohio Company in the 1970's and he was a major influence in my professional career and a personal role mode! Most of the Corporate Financing's that were completed in the 70's and 80's had Dan Fronk to thank. He was one of The Ohio Company's true backbones. He had a gift of perseverance and grit. We will sincerely miss you Mr. Fronk
