1948 - 2017
Donald Norman Curtis, age 94, of Belle Center, passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 24, 1922 to the late Edwin and Alma (Duffee) Curtis. On April 17, 1948, he married the former Charline Ann Perkins and she preceded him in death in October of 1998. Donald was also preceded in death by two sons Jeffrey Curtis and Christopher Curtis and two brothers Harold Curtis and Howard Curtis. He is survived by a son, near whom he resided, Mark Curtis of Belle Center; a daughter, Dawn Ann (Rick) Hadgkiss of Greensboro, North Carolina; grandchildren, Colin Jones of Charleston, South Carolina, and Dr. Seth (Caroline) Jones of Durham, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Central High School in Columbus. Donald attended the Belle Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed watching sports. All who loved him will miss him. Bishop Jerald Bontrager will officiate a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Leon Troyer Residence, 9442 County Road 101, Belle Center. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 1st, from 5-8 p.m. at the Troyer Residence. A graveside service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad St., Galloway, OH 43119. Memorial contribution may be made to Belle Center United Methodist Church, 202 Walnut Street, Belle Center, Ohio 43310. Funeral arrangements are in the care of the EICHHOLTZ DARING & SANFORD FUNERAL HOME in Belle Center and online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.edsfh.com.

"Met" him through the Amish America blog. I enjoyed his postings and his replies to those of us on the blog who asked him questions. He was a wise individual with a good sense of humor and made a positive impression on me. God rest his soul and may Mark, family & friends know he will be missed even by those who never really met him.
