William Richard Ingram

William Richard Ingram, age 66, husband to Linda Parker Ingram, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

He was the beloved son of Myrtle Beckham Ingram and the late Elmer E. Ingram. Richard graduated from the old Central High School in Nashville, TN with the class of 1963. He attended the University of Tennessee, Nashville extension, prior to being drafted into the Army, where he served as an MP. Richard was a long time resident of Rutherford County. He retired last year after 38 years of service as a civil engineer and land surveyor #484 for the State of Tennessee at TWRA. Richard was an avid outdoorsman, a wildlife lover and had a wonderful sense of humor. He had a kind heart and deeply loved his family and home. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Richard is survived by his mother, Myrtle; his wife of 40 years, Linda; two daughters, Amber Stanley (Jimmy) of Murfreesboro, Amy Peterson (Jason) of Bell Buckle; four grandchildren, Cathleen (Catie) Stewart, Parker Gipson, Barrett Peterson and Riley Peterson; a brother, Jerry Kenneth Ingram (Debbie); a brother-in-law, Larry Parker (Linda); a sister-in-law, Wanda Parker Fullerton (Paul); an aunt, Ellie Ingram Dowdy and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer and sister, Lynda Gene Ingram White Sutton.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to share stories/memories of your acquaintance and friendship with Richard, it will give them great pleasure to remember him this way, by electronic or standard mail at [email protected] or P.O. Box 1990, Smyrna, TN 37167.

Linda, I have great memories of you and Richard with the many hours I spent at your
Mother and Dad's house. His sense of humor was fantastic. I remember Wanda and I
babysitting Amber and Amy for you and Richard to go out, and then I taught them at LaVergne High School as well. May God give you and the whole family comfort and
at this difficult time.
