Ruby BOLDORAC Obituary

Ruby Ruth Bird, was born December 26, 1918 in Mesa, Arizona. She passed away October 21, 2012 at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper, Wyoming. She was the daughter of Mary Catherine Evans Bird and Reaves Alexander Bird. Private graveside services for her family were held at Highland Cemetery in Casper. Ruby supported her family for many years in the leather industry. She learned the leather trade in her father's R.A. Bird Saddlery in Mesa as a leather worker, saddle maker, and pattern maker. She later worked for the N. Porter Company in Phoenix. She married Robert Boldorac in 1953 and moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1954. After moving to Wyoming she worked 16 years in the Casper Medical Center laboratory as a histotechnologist. After retiring, she went to Casper College and obtained her Associates Degree. She was always interested in hunting and fishing and other outdoor activities, and during her life she won many awards for her artistic talents. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, three brothers, one son-in-law, one grandson, husbands Jack Hammond and Robert Boldorac, and long time companion, Ernest Scholtz. She is survived by her son, Norm Hammond of Oceano, CA; daughter, Sandra Layton of Casper; daughter, Jacqueline Johnson of Paulden, AZ; daughter, Beverly Juhl of Apache Junction, AZ; an older sister, Virginia Shelton of Payette ID; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.Sign the Guest Book ateastvalleytribune.com
