I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Mackenzie. I think he was my first male friend in Sakaw school.
I remember bringing two forks to school so we could share pie during our lunch break. I never saw him after elementary but it didn't mean that the memories we had were lostm
Wishing you peace, Mackenzie.

To the Pawluk and Smith families, relatives and friends -
Mack was like extended family to us, and was a dear friend to my sons, Josh and Michael. His presence and all of the gifts he shared with those around him will be honoured this day and remembered always.

I have fond memories of Mack at the lakehouse eating poutine for breakfast, of his 'hat' gifts to Sophie, and his close bond with his siblings. He left us far too soon. We love and miss him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you right now.
I have such fond memories of Darren and his boys grocery shopping on Baseline. Darren - he always had such a mischievous, wonderful grin on his face when you were in with him.
No bond is as great as that between a parent and child and my heart aches for you.
Clayton and I send our deepest condolences as you grieve.

I just read your post about Mackenzie on Facebook and was compelled to reach out to you. I am so sorry for your broken heart and I totally support your frustration with the healthcare system that has nothing but quick little band aid solutions for those battling within their own minds. I too lost my son, his name was Anthony, he decided to end his pain in the wee hours of the morning while those that loved him slept. The pain for those of us left behind is immense, though, those who choose to leave deal with their own immeasurable pain. I am sorry you and your family are experiencing this catastrophic nightmare....hopefully one day no other family will go through this awful tragedy.

It's been 17 months for us. We lost our son to addiction and a system that failed him. My heart breaks for Mackenzie's mom. I am sending prayers of comfort your way. My wish for you is that one day you will smile at the memory of your beautiful son and that the tears will become few. Love and blessing to you.

A beautiful boy, and then man. Sensitive, creative and loving. I will always remember when he walked into a room and Sophie would yell out his name and run into his arms! Big hugs to all of you. He will be missed but not forgotten in our hearts.

I will always remember the way Mack's mischievous smile and sparkling eyes lit up a room. He was full of kindness, empathy and generosity. His wicked sense of humour was razor sharp and irreverent, just like his mother's. I will miss him terribly.
