I am saddend to hear of Garry's passing. I knew him back in 442 when we were privates. After he remustered to flight engineer, he planted the seed of the thought that I could do that too. He was a great guy and will be missed.

Garry was a person you meet and get to know and not see for a long time but will always remember. He had a smile that reminded me of one of my brothers. Sad to hear of his departure.

Garry and I flew together with 442 Sqn,103 RU and 435 Sqn from 1976 to 1987 and from my experiences on numerous trips with him or when back at home base you couldn't find a better companion or friend to be with.

There are many fond memories of flying with Garry. He was a welcome source of humour when the hours went by slowly and a consummate professional when lives hung in the balance. My deepest condolences go out to Garry's family and friends.

Gary was a big part of that band of merry men at 442 Sqn Comox known as "Lab Flight" who made my 3 years there the absolute highlight of my 30 odd year career. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and countless friends.

Condolences from Randy Ward and Bob Meads. We were part of a great team in Comox. Gary was the prankster. When we start telling stories, about the past thoughts of Gary's antics always get us laughing.
