I am saddened by the passing of Don. I have fond memories of working with him as a young cable splicer apprentice at Edmonton Telephones. He was a great teacher and a delightful gentleman to be associated with!

Susan, I just learned of Don's passing and extend heartfelt condolences to you and Don's children as you cope with his loss. As you know, Don and I were long time colleagues in Edmonton's Planning Department and I fondly reflect on those years working with Don with great respect and admiration for his determination and professionalism to always get the job done right. He was a great proponent of win-win negotiations, skillfully balancing the needs and requirements of the municipality and the development industry. In so doing he earned and maintained the respect of all involved and for me he was a highly valued and trusted colleague and friend. I wish you peace and comfort in this challenging time of transition.
